“Our task must be to free ourselves… by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty… Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances of survival for life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.” -Albert Einstein

EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS 2010:

THE YOGA OF SOUND / ART OF CHANTING
WITH DAVID NEWMAN (DURGA DAS)
SUNDAY, MARCH 21
TIME: 12-6 PM
PRICE: $85

Bhakti Yoga is the expression of one’s love and devotion for the Divine mystery. The principle practice of bhakti yoga is kirtan, a sacred and ancient practice in which mantras and music are used together to call out lovingly and enthusiastically to the many faces of God. It is often simply called “devotional chanting”.

This workshop is a joyful exploration into the art of kirtan. We will delve into the healing power of mantras, the opening of the chakras through sound, chanting as meditation, and the teachings of the saints and scriptures on the nature of Love as a spiritual path.
Join David for an inspiring journey of mind opening ideas and heart opening practices.
